A letter released on Monday by State Sen. Ray Lesniak questions Nevada's U.S. senators' recent claim that federal law prohibits unlawful internet gambling within state lines.
The senators believed unlawful internet gambling in all forms are illegal and that Holder should consult the Congress in case of a difference of opinion.
A bill which allowed online gaming such as poker to be played by New Jersey residents while they are in the state was sponsored by Lesniak, D-Union, an attorney and partner in the Weiner Lesniak law firm. Governor Christie vetoed the bill.
Lesniak has argued that in case he accepts Sens. Reid and Kyl's letter then the Nevada Gaming Board, which approved sports, betting via mobile Internet within the confines of the state of Nevada should also be prosecuted. Legal action should also be taken against New Jersey and 37 other states since those states have offered online betting on horse races for several years that is a form of unlawful internet gambling. Intrastate internet gambling is permitted according to the 2006 Unlawful Internet Gaming Enforcement Act.

Daniel J. Trolaro, 35, of Oakland a former insurance agent who fed his online gambling habit by stealing nearly $2 million from his clients was sentenced on Friday to six years in state prison.
He admitted to have stolen $1,918,000 from nine clients to indulge his online gambling addiction
The money, which he was supposed to invest on his clients' behalf, he instead kept for his personal use to indulge his online gambling addiction. The amounts stolen from the nine clients ranged from $46,000 to $910,000. The investigation revealed that Trolaro used the majority of the money for online gambling.
Online gambling is a tough addiction to battle. There are people who steal money with their hands and there are people who steal with their brains, but the impact on the victim doesn't much change.
