Welcome to JoannaCassidy.com.  I am happy to have this site to share my work with you.  For those of you who have followed my career over the years or are just newly acquainted with my work, I've posted many of my favorite photos, that may have not been made public before.

The Filmography page includes artwork and detailed descriptions of the movies, as well as an opportunity to go into in-depth pages on movies with publicity stills, some peeks behind the scenes, and soon, a video clip of my favorite scene.  There is a Modeling page from my early days as a fashion model.  Some of you will recall those wild clothes, big eyelashes and unique hairdos!

Near and dear to my heart is the Activism page.  I love animals and there is so much we can do to help them.  A few years ago I was privileged to accompany "Flora", an African elephant who had been performing in a circus for 20 years, to her new home at the Elephant Sanctuary.  Watch her trip from Florida to Tennessee and find out what you can do to help the sanctuary.  I am also wild about birds.  Soon this site will include a very special person - "Doc" Lawrence, and his sanctuary of over three hundred parrots.

For those of you that are photography enthusiasts, I've designed a portion of my website for my own photography.  It is my passion and hobby, something I greatly enjoy.  I will be rotating the exhibit several times a year, and from time to time, offer my own prints for

sale in the Shop section.  I'd really appreciate your feedback on my photography.  In the Shop section you will also find my "Laugh" tapes for sale. They say "laughter is the best medicine" and I believe it's true.

Watch for Joanna in the new TNT series HAWTHORNE premiering on Tuesday, June 16, at 9 p.m. (ET/PT) Jada Pinkett Smith plays Christina Hawthorne, a compassionate and headstrong Chief Nursing Officer heading up a group of dedicated nurses at Richmond Trinity Hospital who spend long days and nights on the hospital's front lines.  Joining Pinkett Smith in HAWTHORNE is Michael Vartan as Dr. Tom Wakefield, the oncologist who treated Christina's husband and who serves as director of medicine for the hospital. The cast also includes Suleka Mathew as Bobbie Jackson, a fellow nurse and one of Hawthorne's best friends; David Julian Hirsh as Ray Stein, a nurse struggling with being accepted in a female-dominated profession; Christina Moore as Candy Sullivan, a nurse with a unique sense of duty; and Hannah Hodson as Camille, Hawthorne's daughter. In addition, special guest star Joanna Cassidy portrays Amanda, Hawthorne's mother-in-law, who also happens to be a member of the hospital board.

Joanna has just finished filming the feature film STAY COOL, written by Mark and Michael Polish.  The film is about an author who returns to his hometown to deliver a commencement address to a class of graduating high school students has to deal with his feelings for an old flame as well as the advances of a student who has the hots for him. The film also stars Winona Ryder, Hilary Duff, Sean Astin, Mark Polish, Chevy Chase, Jon Cryer and Josh Holloway.  It is scheduled for a release sometime in 2009.

Joanna has just finished filming THE HUMAN CONTRACT about a successful corporate type harboring a deep, dark secret befriends a free-spirited stranger who encourages him to ditch his stuffy lifestyle and live life in reckless abandon. The film also stars Jada Pinkett Smith and Ted Danson.  The film had its world premiere at the 44th annual Chicago International Film Festival, and will be released on DVD from Sony Pictures on June 30, 2009.

Joanna as also completed filming the movie BOY IN THE BOX, scheduled to be released sometime in 2008.
